Weekday lunches are starting to become one of my favourite outings of the week (next to Sunday brekky of course!). Our weekday catch up brought us opposite Elsternwick Park, to this chic cafe/restaurant in Elwood.

ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE

Walking in, this bright and spacious restaurant boosts polished concrete floors, white walls and contrasting timber accents. Surrounded by windows, the covered outdoor veranda brings in an abundance of natural lighting, perfect for year round use. I love the simplicity of the decor, including the clean wooden tables and chairs, bright clean bar, simple lighting and a pop of red from the bar stools and velvet draping.

It was a quiet afternoon at the restaurant, perfect for our weekday catch up. The service was attentive and friendly from the moment we walked in. Once seated, coffee orders were promptly taken, made and served followed by a delicious lunch.

FOOD

The menu follows the style of the restaurant with simple refreshing tapas, delicious pizzas & pastas, and of course all your staple brekky favourites. With too many delicious choices, I decided to keep it simple with my all-time fav and ordered the ‘Elwood Avo Toast’. Although simple, it was fresh, the perfect portion size and definitely hit the spot.

If weekends are more your scene, local musicians hit the stage taking this already lively restaurant up a notch. Sit back and enjoy a glass of vino, a gluten free specialty beer or one of their many delicious desserts while tunes play in the afternoon sun.
