Our Friday morning started on a high note with a quick visit & catch up at the new Sensations en Ardross location. After reopening at a new location, the 8 month wait was certainly well worth it in the end. I instantly fell in love with this gourmet cafe as soon as I walked through the door. The large open space was filled with decorative wooden table, mismatched chairs and beautiful antique furniture throughout.

ATMOSPHERE

The new set up offers a range of different size tables, which are generously spread throughout the cafe, giving an ample amount of room for people to walk comfortably through the restaurant. White walls and concrete floors compliment the antique style furniture for a rustic, homey feel.

The counter offers a beautiful arrangement of home baked sweet and savory goodies, which you can either enjoy at the cafe or take-away if you are in a rush. During our visit, there were a endless number of people popping in for coffee and a baked good while on their way to work. Display was spot on and creative!

FOOD

If you’re looking for a cafe specialising in Gluten Free meals, this is your go to place. All options on their menu can be made gluten free for those looking for this fast growing health craze.

We went with the ‘Breakfast Burger’ consisting of fried egg, bacon, spinach and their Sensations Relish all in a beautiful toasted bagel. The bagel was one of the softest bagels we’ve probably ever tried, which was not dense like most store bought bagels you get. The ‘Sensations Relish’ was to die for, the flavours worked exquisitely with the other components of the burger, making it a must order dish!

We also ordered the ‘Apple and Cinnamon Porridge’ with chai, sunflower seed, linseed, almonds, rice milk and topped with fresh fruit and coconut cream. There is nothing unhealthy about this power house dish full of nuts, seeds and tasty fruits. The star of the dish was the beautifully creamy coconut cream that was drizzled on top. Portion size was perfect as it was a very filling dish.

To finish we ordered their freshly made raspberry, rockmelon, watermelon and pineapple juice. AMAZING and so refreshing!

SERVICE

We were welcomed today by the barista who was busily getting through the coffee rush. We were in no rush and completely understand the time it takes to make a good cup of coffee. We had a quick look at the menu while we waited and ordered at the counter once she was done.

The food was quick to come out of the kitchen, which is a nice surprise from a busy cafe. The waitress who brought out food out was very personable and hospitable when putting down our orders. She made sure we had everything sorted before moving on to the next table.

This is the type of place you could spend an entire morning reading a book or the paper with some very tasty food. The service, food and ambiance are all a breath of fresh air. There is not one thing to fault about the new Sensations En Ardross. On my next visit to Perth, we will make a trip back here to try more of their unbelievable menu.
