We ended up here on a Wednesday night for a friend’s birthday and wasn’t really sure what to expect. Being a funky little laneway eatery and bar, I wasn’t expecting anything too over the top. From the street you are welcomed by a wooden laddis and hanging retro lighting covered with jarred plants. Walking through the bar you make your way past high-top wooden bar tables and bright red chairs, outdoor plants and artificial grass.

At the far end of the laneway is a large vintage caravan, which serves up a pretty mean meal. The food coming from the kitchen smelled absolutely amazing and almost every table had something in hand. Their menu focuses on simple Spanish-inspired dishes to please everyone.

Their signature dish is the Chuckle Park Pulled Pork Roll, which was spot on. It was savory yet sweet with a beautiful soft bun. Also on the line up are Corn on the CobAlbondigas  (Spanish meatballs) served in the hot stoneware pan itself and Spanish Lentil Salad. Atop the caravan is a large colourful Jesus statute with surrounding flowers to complete the funky decor.

Drinks include the typical canned soft drinks, beer, cider and wines. Plus they also have a variety of signature cocktails in funky ‘Chuckle Park’ mugs including Sangria and Aperitifs.

The decor works well to fit in with their cosy ‘park’ themed laneway, the atmosphere is lively and the staff are friendly and hospitable. It’s definitely worth checking out if your in the CBD. Even with Melbourne’s noted ‘4 seasons in one day’, the bar features large awnings and heaters for what ever weather Melbourne throws our way.
