Making our way further down the coast, we were after an accommodation that was true to the Puglia region to give us the atmosphere, lifestyle and culture of the local people. Palace & Place Luxury Hotels in Gallipoli & Otranto are a family of four boutique style hotels including the Hotel Palazzo del Corso, Relais Corte Palmieri, Palazzo Mosco Inn and Relais Valle D’Idro. After looking through them all, we decided the Palazzo Mosco Inn was the best option for what we were after in terms of amenities and location right in the heart of the old town.
We weren’t after all the five star amenities we’ve had at some of the other hotels on our holiday, we were after more of a laid back and relaxed atmosphere. After seeing the amazing terrace overlooking the sea and the Gallipoli Gulf, we were sold. The oversized terrace offers unobstructed views of the sea, perfect for watching the sun set with a glass of Prosecco in hand.
Breakfast is also served on the terrace each morning, offering a full Italian style continental breakfast including pastries, breads, fruits and cakes, all made in house. Or during the cooler months, breakfast is served in an exclusive breakfast room, which is converted from an old stall.
GUEST ROOMS
With the hotel dating back to the nineteenth century, most guest rooms have stayed true to the history with original mosaic floors, high ceilings and four poster beds. Each guest room is unique and furnished with elegant Puglia flare. Our room offered a stunning four post bed, minibar, in room safe, high quality toiletries and Italian marble bathroom with shower.
Location of Palazzo Mosco Inn was one of the main reasons why we decided to stay here. With close proximity to churches, historical buildings, and the Gallipoli nightlife, it was an easy and beautiful walk to enjoy. The hotel also has a partnership with some of the most amazing beaches in Gallipoli, including Samsara and Bikini, which we took full advantage of. At Samsara Beach, day beds and umbrellas are including in your room rate, however you just need to pay the transfer fee of EUR10 per person to get to the beach.
Overall, this is an amazing boutique style hotel that ticked all the boxes for our stay in Gallipoli.
