On our annual snow trip we travel through Sapporo, this year we decided a stop-over was in order. A quick look at hotels that would be convenient and we found the JR Tower Hotel. As the name suggests this hotel is located in the JR Tower in central Sapporo.
The location meant we jumped off the train and simply walked around to the lobby, check in, dropped our bags and we were off to the Sapporo Ice Festival. The process was less than 10 minutes!
The hotel itself is simple but modern, with a few room types available which include single, double, twin or suite rooms. The rooms were clean and generous in size, by Japanese standards, with all the usual amenities you would require. But I must point out this hotel is for convenience, not your romantic get-away.
I would recommend this hotel for people chasing the snow in Hokkaido. It’s truly a great way to break-up the trip from Tokyo. If you get the timing right there is lots to see and do in Sapporo and the hotel makes a great base.
