The year has flown by and the silly season is well underway, which means Christmas is all around us. Federation Square has released their Free Christmas Program Guide, celebrating events for all ages. From now under after Christmas a range of events including entertainment, music and workshops will be taking place throughout the Melbourne CBD.

Below are our top picks!

1. LEGO Christmas Tree

The largest LEGO Christmas Tree in the southern hemisphere has just gone up at Fed Square. With more than half a million bricks, be sure to check out the tree once the sun goes down! The tree will be the backdrop to a festive light show dancing to your favourite Christmas carols.

2. Outdoor Cinema

The nice weather is finally here, outdoor cinemas are popping up all over the city. Bring your lawn chairs down to Fed Square and enjoy Christmas flicks from 6pm-8pm every Wednesday with the final show on the 23rd of December.

3. Live Concert on Christmas Eve

Fed Square will be hosting a free concert on Christmas Eve from 5:30 – 7:30pm. This is an all ages event and perfect for the whole family to enjoy.

6. The Australian Open Big Serve Breakfast

One of our favourite events taking place at Fed Square this year is the Australian Open Big Breakfast. On 25 December from 8am-11am, the team behind the Australian Open are inviting local families and young people living in Melbourne who are displaced, homeless or in a foreign city to come together this Christmas and enjoy a free breakfast. Additional events will include face painting, entertainment, prizes and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
