The British Airways Galleries First Lounge at the London Heathrow airport is a mix between sophistication and elegance. We spent the last leg of our journey enjoying the services provided at the First Lounge. From the stunning decor and chandeliers to the high end comfortable furniture this is the ultimate place to sit back and relax before your flight.

The lounge is located in Terminal 5, just past the security you’ll see an entrance to The Concorde Room. Keep in mind the Galleries First Class Lounge is only available to those holding a oneworld Emerald card or first class passengers.

The space is spacious with several different lounge areas to enjoy. I personally pop myself close to the champagne bar, serving up 2006 Taittinger and Taittinger Rose, which is definitely a step up from most airport lounges.

Additional spaces including a quite work area, complete with internet access, printers, copiers and fax machines are all available at no additional cost to get some last minute work done before your long haul flight.

Private cabanas are available, offing private booths with waiter, comfortable day beds and en-suite for the ultimate amount of privacy. Food and drinks are ample and located throughout the lounge. Everything from espresso machines, small snacks to more substantial foods and a fully stocked bar, the sky is the limit when it comes to indulging before your flight.

I was quite impressed with the overall look and atmosphere of the lounge. It was quite busy, however with ample seating, it still seemed to be quite quiet and enjoyable.
