With a weekend away in beautiful Sorrento, a morning of delicious breakfast and coffee was in order. We had been to The Sisters Kitchen Garden Cafe years ago, so was keen to head back to see if they were still doing an amazing job. Located on the main shopping strip, it was a long weekend, so were optimistic with getting a table straight away. Surprising, we scored a table within minutes of walking in on a large communal table.

ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE

The cafe offers both indoor and outdoor seating, amongst their ‘veggie patch’. High peaked ceilings, white bricked walls and an open concept are only some of the features to create simplicity of this cafe. I did find the tables slightly too close together, making it difficult to get around, however only a small criticism.

Their outdoor space is used for both seating and growing some amazing produce used in all their dishes. Priding themselves on fresh, organic local produce right from their own backyard.

The service throughout the morning was friendly and efficient. It was quite busy, meaning coffee orders took slightly longer than usual, however they arrived with a smile and apology for the wait.

FOOD

With a cafe priding themselves on the fresh produce grown in their own backyard, the menu changes frequently based on what’s readily available to them. Veggies boxes full of lettuce, herbs, lemons & limes (just to name a few) fill the outdoor space with ingredients ready to pick year round.

We started the morning with coffee (of course), followed by a range of delicious juices. With both freshly squeezed and bottled juices, I opted for the Pineapple & Mint concoction, which was perfect!

With a menu focusing on healthy options, I decided to go with the Acai bowl served with fresh berries and mixed nuts. It was slightly pricey for the size, however I guess with its location they are able to charge more. It was tasty, and could definitely taste the freshness from the berries.

Overall we had a lovely late breakfast at The Sisters Kitchen Garden Cafe. The service was on the slower side and the prices slightly high (given its location), however was still a wonderful breakfast.
