Found this place on chance while walking down Chapel Street. We were in need of a hangover cure and wanted something that was off the main strip, away from the hustle & bustle of the shoppers. We managed to see this place from the main strip and thought to give it a go.

SERVICE

Very laid back staff, perfect for the South Yarra culture. It’s a very tiny cafe and can see everything that is going on in the kitchen, which is a nice feature. The waiter we had knew the menu inside and out, so any questions we had could be answered in seconds. Our coffees were very quick to come out, another plus which you don’t see too often at cafes.

FOOD

Their menu is posted up on the wall so no paper menus are given out when you sit down. The menu has a beautiful selection of breakfast and lunch dishes all with their own healthy twist. The whole lot is made onsite which is a plus! Pricing was extremely reasonable for the South Yarra market.

We went with the build your own breakfast with poached eggs, avocado, baked beans, bacon and mushroom. Portion size was very generous and couldn’t finish the meal.  Everything was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices.

They had Bircher Muesli on the menu, which I was excited about, so it was a no brainer for me. Presentation was a bit lacking, however the flavour was all there. They even had apple sauce on the top which brought me back to my childhood. I would have enjoyed a bit more rhubarb, however the apple sauce made up for it.

Overall, a great find and wouldn’t mind coming back. The service was friendly and wasn’t too busy which was a bonus.
