Those who brought you Bar Nacional and Long Shot are expanding their family and adding Chiara to the list this Friday afternoon. This Italian style eatery will showcase contemporary favourites like pizzas and pastas with a twist by Head Chef, George Fowler (straight off the boat from Michelin restaurant ‘Pollen Street Social’ in London).

I got a first look at the space on Tuesday morning for the launch of The Age, Good Food Month brunch event. With a variety of cheeses and desserts on display as well as roaming canapes like scrabbled eggs (sounds a bit odd, I know, but oh so delicious!), this was the perfect opportunity to check out what was to come this Friday afternoon for the launch.

The chic space is perfect for the Docklands clientele offering a relaxed bar area for after work drinks as well as comfortable bench seating. The space isn’t overly large, however they do offer a private dining space, which is a huge bonus for their location. Exposed ceilings and artistic hung lighting all add to the modern vibe of the restaurant.

We will be back this weekend to check out the menu and sample some of their delicious wines on the list.
